 AlphaTrecker2.0 - AlphaTrecker is a new type of system extension made
possible by Apple’s System 7. It is a system extension, but it is not an
“INIT.” Rather, it is a faceless background application (FBA) that launches
when you start or restart your Macintosh computer. Since it is an FBA, it
need not include any provision for interaction with you, the user, so it
can be a small file; because it is a true application and not an “INIT,” it

 After several years of engineering we have come up with the most pleasant
of beep sounds...particularly suited for a business interest or home
environment where even the standard beep tone can turn into an annoyance.
We didn't deviate too far... meaning we followed the original beep sound
guidelines of replicating the tone of a jet liner when the 'no smoking' or
'fasten your set belts' sign  lights up. Descriptively speaking it is a
bell sound with no attack, sustained decay, then a gentle release.  Just
drop the file on your system folder (and it will go in your System).

 Launch - switching startup sounds and screens. There is no easy way (that I
know of) to switch StartupSounds. This program runs at startup time and
renames files if the following conditions are met.  First, the system
folder must be named "System Folder".  Second, the sound files must be
renamed to ".Soundx" where x is a letter from A to Z.  The file and folder
names are case sensitive.  If one has eight SUS's, then the files should be
named ".SoundA" thorugh ".SoundH".  The first time through, ".SoundA will
be renamed StartupSound.  The next time, StartupSound will named back to
".SoundA" and ".SoundB" will be named StartupSound.  And so on...

is, they can be played over and over without any noticeable click at the
end of each playback. SoundEdit lets you do that easily (you can play a

once you've saved the sound there's no way to loop it from the Finder. Many
of my sounds don't even sound good if they're not looped, so I wrote this
little application to play my loops. Just drop a System 7 sound file on

for each voice (up to 10 voices). When a sound window is in the front of
the screen any noncommand keys will trigger the sound to be played at a

sounds and merges them into one stereo sound. Just open the left and right

soundtracks from QuickTime movies. Drop-launch a movie onto the application

Movie2Snd does all of its work in memory, so you'll need to set the

in a random order. If your Mac has stereo capability, then it also randomly

sounds off the System file under System 7.1. It works pretty much like the
old Font/DA Mover but it moves sound resources intead of fonts. In fact,
creating a new sound file will create a font suitcase with a custom icon
that makes it look like a sound suitcase; moving this suitcase inside
System 7.1's Font folder (inside the System folder) will make the Mac
believe it's a font suitcase, so it will be opened and all its sounds will
be available in the Sound control panel right away. All this could be done
manually with ResEdit, but it's a lot easier to do it with SoundCaser.

features was to play a sound by clicking on its icon. The problem is that
this can’t be done with sound suitcases. Here is where SoundExtractor comes
in. Just drag a suitcase on top of SoundExtractor’s, and a new folder will
be created. This folder will have a custom icon of a folder with a little
speaker on it, and it will contain all the sounds that were in the sound
suitcase. But now, double-clicking on the sounds will play them!
